Each school and institution releases a Dean’s List each semester to recognize students who have excelled academically. 53 seniors of Solon High School have received recognition from the 2023 National Merit Scholarship Program. The students qualified as semifinalists because their PSAT scores, which were obtained during their junior year, were among the best in the state. Two more than last year, at that. This year, St. Mary’s Bank raised the scholarship amount from $12,000 to $15,000 in order to assist more students. Candidates must be enrolled at least half-time in a degree-granting community college, public or private institution, or university for the upcoming academic year in order to be eligible. Candidates may submit an application each year they are enrolled in school. To be eligible for consideration, applicants must have been a St. Mary’s Bank member in good standing for at least six months prior to the deadline for scholarship applications.
